I am Malala- Review

Hey! I was asked to review a book that I have been really excited to read so I jumped at the first opportunity to read it. It is a book by one girl who I have always admired, Malala Yousafazi. This has been the only book other than my course reading that I have done, and it didn't take me long to read as it is only a short book. I did love this book however, it made me really feel Malala's pain and gave greater insight into what she was going through at the time. I felt that the book missed out a lot of political information about what was going on at the time, that might have been because the book was aimed at a teen audience or that Malala herself was young and maybe didn't understand it fully either. As an older reader for me it felt a little "young" somehow but the important messages still got accross.

For me this book really brought home what it was like in Afgahinstan for these children and adults alike. A place where woman cannot learn in school seems difficult to imagine and we become wrapped up in our own little worlds that it's easy to forget how horrible it must have been and how real too. It definitley opened my eyes to the horror that they endured and strengthend my admiration for Malala. The book has a really important message about war, that I feel like a lot of political leaders need to read, to see exactly the harm war is causing to civillians and real people. I love Malala and her fathers courage to keep fighting despite the danger in their situation, and the very real fear of death.

I hope Malala keeps fighting for her cause and we all help, this girl has got much more change to make yet! I would definitley reconmend this book to everyone of all ages, even if I did find it a little bit young for me the messages in this book are for everyone of all ages.

Lots of love,

Guess whose back/ Christmas blog challenge

Hi! Wow, it has been a long time since I have posted anything on either on my blogs and it is both nice and weird typing on here again. I apologise for not writing anything for so long I guess I just let life get in the way and I was so busy getting into my new course and meeting new people that it just didn't cross my mind to work on any of my blogs. I am on my holidays now, I came back to Leeds yesterday and I feel like it is a good time to get back into blogging and the community again. I don't know how often I will post I feel like for the time being not making such a strict blogging regime and posting when I feel like it and on which blog I feel like posting it on kind of thing. You can see when I post by following my Instagram, Littleblogsfromlittlepeople or follow me on google plus which I am sure there is a link to somewhere on this page.

Since this is my first blog in a while I thought I'd do something fun and Christmasy so I thought I would catch up on the 25 days of Christmas blog challenge and do days 1- 13! I hope you enjoy!

1) Your favourite Christmas movie?
Polar express! I love this film, it's so beautiful to watch, it never used to be a favourite but I have recently come to love it!

2) Your Christmas list
At the top of my Christmas list this year is an Ipad, it would make my work so much easier as I can bring one into uni and download uni books onto it! I would also like some new headphones as mine are broken and it's driving me insane, and a styling wand so I can curl my hair!

3) When did you learn Santa wasn't real?
I used to always want to believe in Santa and I used to pretend to my friends I did still but I always had my doubts from a really young age! I am naturally sceptical I guess!

4) Favourite Christmas song?
I can never choose I love all Christmas songs! I do really love spaceman came travelling though, I listen to it even when it's not Christmas!

5) The best gift you have ever received?
I am not sure about this one, I think all of my presents are really great and I feel so lucky so I don't have one particular one.

6) Favourite tree ornament?
We have some really sweet Disney ones that we got from Disney world which I really like, also we have a shoe one which is so cool.

7) Your most memorable Christmas?
I don't think there is one for me, that is mostly because my Christmases follow a similar pattern which I love. I kind of like that they are all really similar.

8) Post a picture of Christmas decor.
I have literally just put my tree up!

9) Easiest person to buy for?
My boyfriend! We basically tell each other what to get each other. It ruins the surprise element but makes it a hell of a lot easier!

10) Favourite holiday sent?
Cinnamon and vanilla flavoured things!

11) Favourite Christmas tradition?
Christmas dinner! My Christmas is quite traditional as it is but I do love a big chirstmas dinner!

12) Wrapping paper or gift bags?
I cannot wrap for shit! But i feel like gift bags is a little bit of a cheat...

13) Favourite Christmas book?
I have a book of the poem "the night before Christmas" and my dad reads it to us every single year, no matter how old we are!

I hope you enjoyed this post! I am looking forward to doing some more posts and I might finish this tag off at some point!
Lots of love
