My Makeup Brushes (Lancome, Real Techniques, Jack Wills and B.)

Hey guys! I hope you are doing well. Before I get on with today's post I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported me lately, if you don't follow me on twitter or Instagram you might not know that one of my cats had to be put down last week and it was really sad so thank you to everyone who has been sending me kind messages.

So today I am going to be showing you my makeup brushes! I love all these brushes and use them on a regular basis so I thought I'd talk you through them all.

Lancome Brushes:
1 powder brush: This is the softest and biggest brush ever and I love it for doing my powder! The only thing is that it is a bit big to set under my eyes with so I just use this for the rest of my face.

2 foundation brush: This is probably my least used brush, I personally don't like flat brushes for foundation but I do like to use this to set under my eyes since my powder brush is too big!

8 Concealer brush: Again this brush I don't use too often as I like to apply concealer with either my foundation brush or my finger, but I do use this to clean up my eyeshadow.

11 Large Shadow brush: These next three brushes I use for my eyeshadow and I love them so much. I use this one to pack on colour on my lids.

13 Angle Shadow brush: I use this brush for my crease, these eyeshadow brushes pick up so much product honestly and it's amazing.

17 blending shadow brush: This brush I use for exactly it's name! I use it to blend my eyeshadow in. It's such a great fluffy blending brush and it's great.

These brushes are on the pricier side, but they are amazing and are so beautiful and Luxe. You can buy this exact set I have here on offer for £43.33 which I would recommend getting now while you can as normally this set is £65.00.

Real Techniques:
I only own one real tecnqiue brush which I think is so strange compared to most people who have loads. This is my favourite foundation applying brush, it's the expert face brush and I love it, blends my foundation in so well. I am ordering another Real Techniques brush actually soon, I really want their setting brush for my highlighter (as I do not own a good highlighting brush and it's about time I got one!) You can buy this for £8.99 at Superdrug.

Jack Wills:
I used to have more Jack Wills brushes but as my brush collection hs grown more I have thrown out the brushes I don't use. I kept the blush brush because I think it's a really good size for a blush brush. The other is the small angled brush which I use for my eyebrows. I do really like this eyebrow brush but I think I need a new one soon, this one is quite old. This is not avalible to buy at the moment but keep your eyes out around christmas time as that is when they tend to sell these brush sets, they are a lot cheaper than the Lancome ones at around £10.

B.

I own one B. brush which are Superdrug's vegan brushes and it's the contour brush. I really like this for contouring and bronzing and it blends in really nicely. I really want to try some more of their brushes as I do really like this one.You can get this right now on the Superdrug website for £5.93 on offer which again I would go and get before the offer goes away! Otherwise, the price is £8.99.

There are all the brushes I use regularly! What brushes do you like? Have you used any of these?
Lots of love,
Eleanor x

Chaos Walking trilogy (Patrick Ness) review

Hey guys! So I am back with another book review. I have decided to try and post at least one book review a month! I actually finished this trilogy last night (Friday night) and I really wanted to write this review even though I won't be uploading this until my usual posting day, Monday. If you saw my what I got for my 20th birthday post you would have seen I received a load of Patrick Ness books from my boyfriend. After reading a Monster Calls last year I wanted to read more of his books! I read and reviewed "More than this" last month, you can read the review here.

"Tom Hewitt is the last boy in Prentisstown. But Prentisstown isn't like other towns. Everyone can hear everyone else's thoughts in a constant, overwhelming never ending noise. There is no privacy. There are no secrets. Or are there? Just a month before the birthday that will make him a man, Todd unexpectedly stumbles upon a spot of silence. Which is impossible. Prentisstown has been lying to him, and now he's going to have to run."

As a whole, I loved this trilogy! I was a little worried it would be too young for me, I would say it's probably aimed for about 12+ age whereas More Than This I would say is more YA. I would say this is so good for anyone of any ages and I will definitely be passing it into my mum to let her to read! All three books are really fast pace and they are all hard to put down. I will say that for me I thought the first book started a little slowly, it takes a while to get used to and to work out what's happening. I loved the concept overall, I love futuristic books and just like More Than This, this book is set in the future.

Patrick Ness is such an amazing writer, he's probably my favourite writer at the moment but he's a writer you can't really trust! In that, throughout these books, I had no idea what was going to happen! The plot twists are so difficult to second guess and I do love that but I was so scared for my favourite characters as I do not trust him to give a happy ending! Having said that I did like how the trilogy did end and I am so glad it didn't have a disappointing ending. These books are not exactly a light read, they're very dramatic and they made me cry a few times and I feared for the characters throughout the books. Ness is the king of cliffhangers and there were so many in these!

I really liked the characters in this trilogy, I thought they were very vivid and 3D. Ness does not use any description of the main characters, other than skin colours, he does not tell you what the characters look like which I guess is good, it allows you to imagine for yourself what the characters look like. Having said that, I do think that Viola could have been explored more throughout the books, Ness did not disclose what she was thinking and when he started to use her as a narrative in the second book, he just used her to tell what was happening, rather than her emotions. At least that's the impression I got. There were no annoying love story lines between the characters, you guys know how I feel about love in action books and I really liked how it wasn't explicitly talked about for the most part of this trilogy and focused more on the important storylines.

Overall I would really recommend these books for anyone of any ages! If you love dystopian futuristic style books you will love these. They were gripping and also quite gritty and I loved the topics Ness tackled too including misogyny, growing up, war, and his writing style is amazing and just gah. Yeah go give these books a read!
Have you read this trilogy? What do you think?
Lots of love,
Eleanor

My Netflix recommendations/ to watch list

Hey guys! So today's post is all about Netflix, my recommendations and what I want to watch! I am super stressed at the moment I have exams in a few months and three really big deadlines coming up in the next month or so too so I love just having some chilled out and relaxed time watching films and shows on Netflix. If you are like me and love relaxing and watching Netflix or are wondering what to watch next I think you will enjoy this post!

Films
1) Gone girl.
If you haven't seen this film I would defo recommend it! I loved the book and read it about two or three years ago and I was so excited to see it on Netflix! One of the rare occasions where I think I enjoyed the film more than the book which is unusual for me! Either way I would go and check this out.

2) The D.U.F.F
This is such a fun light feel good film and it really makes me laugh! If you want a fun chick flick sort of film I would recommend this!

4) Fight Club
This is quite recent to Netflix and I shamefully have only seen this recently. This is a classic film and I loved it. I would really recommend going and watching this especially if you don't know the big twist!

5) Kingsman
So I talked about this film in my favourite film post I did absolutely ages ago and I still love it and they finally put it on Netflix! I love this film I could never get bored and would seriously go watch it!

TV:
1) Orange is the new black
So OITNB is my favourite show! I cannot wait for the new series and if you're looking for a new show to get into and wondered about this then go for it! I love it!

2) Stranger Things
I really enjoyed this series! While I'm not sure it was completely up the hype I really did love it and I would still recommend watching it.

3) Fresh Meat
I haven't finished this series yet but I am loving it so far, it's a good mix of funny and drama and I love anything with Jack Whitehall! It's all about a group of students starting uni for the first time and if you're looking for something new to watch I would recommend this.

So my to watch list is so long! But these are the TV shows on Netflix that I really want to start watching soon!
1) The Crown
2) Gilmore Girls
3) Skins
4) Jessica Jones

What films and shows do you like on Netflix?
Let me know I always want recommendations!
Lots of love,

What's on my reading list?

Hey guys! Today I am doing a "what's on my reading list" post! I love reading and I love to get inspiration of what to read by reading other people's reading lists! I will end up reading a lot more books than these of course but my aim is to read all of these by the end of this year.

1) We were liars - E.Lockhart.
I have been wanting to read this for ages so i am defo going to finally get round to it. I don't know much about this book other than I have heard it's good to read it without knowing much so I am really excited to give it a go.

2) Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children- Ransom Riggs.
I know this came out as a film but I haven't seen the film yet but I thought the trailer looked amazing! I want to read it before I see the film. It looks pretty creepy and exciting.

3) The Rosie Project & The Rosie Effect: Don Tillman 1&2 - Graeme Simsion.
I've been fancying reading these two books for ages too but I've finally made it my aim to read them. There was quite a big hype about these a while ago so I know I'm quite late to read them!

4) My true love gave to me: 12 holiday series - Stephanie Perkins
This book is written by loads of different authors writing different stories and I love these kind of books! Christmas is a really long way off but I'm already planning on reading this book this holiday season!

5) My not so perfect life- Sophie Kinsella.
I have a confession... I have never read confessions of a shopaholick! I have read finding Audrey and remember not being its biggest fan actually. But I have heard so many good things about this book so I definitely want to read it this year! Hopefully one day I'll get round to reading the shopaholick series but it's not on my list at the moment.

I hope you enjoyed this post! If you guys liked it I might do another one of these once I've read some of these books and written an updated list! Have you guys read any of these books? What did you think?
Lots of love,
Eleanor x
