My mum's friend once told me that our insecurities can become our greatest aspect. Like always I'm going to take me as an example, and I have two main insecurities, I'm tiny and my acne prone skin. Lets start off with the fact I'm vertically challenged. As I have said in previous blog posts or many tweets I am extremely tiny and it can be a pain. For example when people meet you, the first thing they usually say is 'wow you're small' or other similar things; seriously nearly every time I meet someone new. I get at least one comment made about my height, not in a mean way just in a teasey jokey way. However besides the annoying comments to be honest I wouldn't want to change. Being small is what makes me who I am and it's like part of my identity now. I've always been little and although I look a bit younger than 16 which can be irritating the fact and the matter is that its me. I make jokes about myself being small and say things about my height too because in a weird kind of way I'm proud of it, it's something that sets me apart from everyone else. So just like my mum's friend said, my height has become my greatest aspect. She also said that insecurities build character and I think this is true to say especially about my skin.  Many of you may be lucky enough not to have many spots, many like me, may be covered in them. If you do have them you'll know what I mean but if you don't think about something else that you're insecure about. It takes a lot of courage to speak out when you're scared that all people can see is your spots. How people will only see your skin and not what's inside of you but if there's one thing I've learned it's that people don't. people don't just see your skin, or that you're little or that you think you're overweight or you're not as clever as other people. Your personality will shine through and in that way it builds character. You realise the things you hate about yourself become the things you most value because they make you who you are. Although it's hard to see it at the moment, one day you'll look back and think yeah actually because I'm a bit shorter or because I don't have a flat stomach I had to shout out because I wanted to show I was just as good as everyone else and in the end it paid off and made me into me, and honestly it will.

There's a poster I found in HMV and it's the Dalai Lama's zen lessons, living one day at a time. There's  list going through the alphabet, for example A is avoid negative situations and B is Believe in your self. I keep meaning to buy it so I can put it on my wall to remind myself each day of the motivational quotes, and that's what I'd like to talk about today, motivation. It's coming up to exams right and instead of being able to come in, make yourself a cuppa and watch jezza Kyle for a bit you have to come in and learn about metallic structures or time-distance graphs . It's hard to keep going, I know as soon as you start reading about them you imminently want to run into bed and hide under the covers forever. And as much as you want to it's not going to happen because you know that phythagerous is waiting for you. Instead of focusing on now, think to the future when you're getting your results, would you rather the reflected hard work, or the fact you choose Jeremy over of mice and men. It's your choice at the end of the day but the hard workers get the best in life and you know that you don't want to be the one with the bad results because you didn't try your best and perform to the best of your capability. Next time you want to do something but you know inside that you need to revise, think about what you would prefer in the future. Jeremy isn't going to go anywhere there will always be people with DNA tests that need doing so instead get to work.

we all have things that we hold on to, that it's impossible to get rid of. Childhood toys, texts that make you smile, stories that you wrote when you were about four. One of my favourite things is old birthday cards. I find it hard to get rid of birthday cards and my favourite ones are on my wall or desk and the rest are in a box. When I'm upset, sometimes I'll look through them and they make me smile because birthday's are special memories, especially as kids. They bring back memories and memories are the most important things, they make us happy or sad. I was watching a film the other day called rise of the guardians and there's a bit about how the tooth fairies keeps the children's teeth in separate little containers and when the child was sad, they'd press a button on the containers and they'd bring happy memories to the child that the teeth held. Memories are one of the most important things in life. sometimes in bed I run over things that made me laugh when I was younger, things I did with my sister or Lucy, running around my granddad's garden with my sister and cousins, laughing until I cried at what people said. Then there's newer things, more weird things me and Lucy or my sister did, memories with Luke and my family and people I've only started talking to this year or last and they genuinely cheer me up. Maybe next time you have a birthday don't be in such a rush to throw out the cards because they hold a lot of things that will make you smile. If something happens that makes you smile or laugh, write it down and put it in a box or write it in a diary or notebook so when you're feeling down you can read them again and you'll feel better, it works.
